The Vulture area is a geographic part of Basilicata located in the North East of the Region.
The Vulture wine production zone is situated on the slopes of an extinct volcano, also called Vulture, inactive since several thousand years ago, which two craters are now lakes.
The soil composition on the slope of the mount, is a mixture of volcanic cinder.
The stratum below is composed by volcanic tuff, a porous rock that is a reserve of water on the most dry period of the year.
Due to the combination of all this soil’s characteristics, this area is particularly indicated for the vine’s growing and , especially, for the Aglianico variety.
For all this reasons we are able to produce very complex and elegant wines. The altitude of this zone ( from 200 to 700 mt) also allow us for a greater maturation process, as a result of a more diverse range of technical parameters given to the wine to enhance ageing and with intense perfumes.
